Poker has become globally celebrated as of late, with televised championships and celebrity poker game events. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back in fact a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years many variations on the earliest poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with chemin de fer than traditional poker, in that the players bet against the house instead of each other. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no bluffing or different types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up just before the dealer declares "No further bets." At that instance, both you and the house and of course every one of the different players acquire 5 cards each. After you have seen your hand and the dealer’s initial card, you must either make a call bet or give up. The call bet’s value is equal to your original ante, indicating that the stakes will have increased two fold. Giving Up means that your wager goes instantaneously to the casino. After the wager is the face off. If the dealer does not have ace/king or better, your wager is returned, plus a figure on par with the ante. If the bank does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The bank pays cash equal to your wager and set expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
