Online poker has become globally celebrated recently, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, stretches back in fact a bit further than its TV scores. Over the years several variants on the first poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with vingt-et-un than long-standing poker, in that the players bet against the dealer instead of each other. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is little bluffing or other kinds of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up before the dealer broadcasting "No further bets." At that instance, both you and the casino and of course all of the other gamblers are given five cards each. Once you have looked at your hand and the bank’s 1st card, you must in turn make a call wager or give up. The call bet’s value is on same level to your beginning ante, which means that the stakes will have doubled. Abandoning means that your ante goes immediately to the dealer. After the wager comes the showdown. If the casino doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, plus a sum on par with the ante. If the dealer has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand is greater than the dealer’s hand. The bank pays out money even with your wager and controlled odds on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
