Web poker has become world famous recently, with televised events and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit further than its television scores. Over the years many variations on the first poker game have been created, including a few games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling blackjack than traditional poker, in that the gamblers wager against the bank instead of each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no bluffing or different kinds of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up before the croupier saying "No further bets." At that point, both you and the casino and of course every one of the different gamblers acquire 5 cards each. Once you have observed your hand and the dealer’s initial card, you must either make a call wager or accede. The call wager’s value is equal to your beginning bet, indicating that the risks will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your ante goes directly to the casino. After the wager comes the showdown. If the bank does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is returned, including an amount on par with the initial bet. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand is greater than the bank’s hand. The bank pays chips even with your ante and set odds on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
