Free poker tournaments are daily competitions that occur on quite a few of the greatest online poker rooms. Freerolls are greatly favored by the poker gambling community as they provide the poker competitors the ability to gain some actual money without losing any. The entry to these freerolls is – like their titles suggests – free and prize $$$$ can vary from a couple of bucks for placing to a few hundred dollars for capturing the huge freeroll Texas Holdem poker tournaments.

So why do the poker rooms have free tournaments? Is it as a result of their incredibly altruistic character and the fact that they make huge amounts of $$$$$ so they feel a societal accountability to give a bit of it back?

What do you believe!

No of course it isn’t, the basis that the great poker rooms offer freerolls is to lure folks to their site.

Here’s the idea in a nutshell – You hear that a site has an exceptional freeroll, it costs you nothing to enter and you can come away with one hundred dollars. You think "Great!" and you go along to the poker site and get registered as a member so you can wager on the freeroll. You can play and finish quickly and are ticked off mainly because you perceive you should have faired much better, or you go close to winning and so you are seeking some additional play. What do you do? You bet some $$$$ at the poker room and compete in a different poker game!

Make sure to check out the free tournaments for payout requirements, you’ll almost always have to bet on a few hands for actual $$$$ before they let you take the $$$$ out. Generally this is on a 1=1 basis, so if you win 20 dollars at the free poker tournament you’ll have to have bet for twenty dollars in bonafide $$$$ in order for you to be able to remove the money.
